Before Midnight |
“Before Midnight” verwijst naar de nieuwe lockdown die begin november 2020 in België werd ingevoerd als gevolg van de 2e Covid-19-golf. Tijdens deze lockdown mochten mensen, naast vele andere maatregelen om sociale contacten te verminderen, tussen middernacht en 5 uur 's ochtends hun huis niet verlaten.
Deze serie vangt de sfeer die hangt in Zelzate, een industriegemeente gelegen in het havengebied van Gent in België, tijdens de avonduren voorafgaand aan de avondklok die om middernacht begint. Winkels, restaurants, bars en scholen zijn gesloten. Er is nauwelijks verkeer, het openbaar vervoer is leeg, alleen de zware industrie rolt door.

“Before Midnight” refers to the new lockdown that was introduced in Belgium at the beginning of November 2020 as result of the 2nd Covid-19 wave. During this lockdown, next to many other measures to reduce social contacts, people were not allowed to leave their houses between Midnight and 5 AM.
This series captures the atmosphere that hangs in Zelzate, an industrial town situated in the harbor area of Ghent in Belgium, during the evening hours prior to the curfew starting at midnight. Shops, restaurant, bars and schools are closed. There is hardly any traffic, public transport is empty, only the heavy industry keeps on rolling.
